Effective Leadership in the VUCA World. VUCA is an acronym based on leadership theories to describe or reflect on the volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of general conditions and situations. 

Leaders impact their organisation, and the lives of the individuals in it, in a positive or negative way. Leaders must sustain high levels of performance themselves and produce results through collaboration with others. The fast pace of change requires more innovation and agility. Without the most up to date and relevant training and support, leaders miss the mark and create disharmony, low engagement, and become a roadblock to achieving the overall results you need. 

Collaboration with many types of individuals in the workplace is not always that simple. Your reports, colleagues, managers and clients all have different abilities and preferences which can often create lots of conflict and stress. This reduces engagement and productivity and increases the loss of talent and clients.  

In order to manage your emotions when dealing with other people, you must have a high level of emotional intelligence. Leaders need to be able to manage themselves and manage their relationships.In this practical, hands-on program, you will gain the skills to develop strong relationships with reports, colleagues, managers and clients as well as reduce stress and conflict for higher engagement and productivity.

1.30pm: Welcome/overview 

1.35pm: Module 1 - Professional Services Leadership in a VUCA World 

The leadership landscape has changed dramatically over the past decade and continues to shift as the world becomes even more volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. 
 
In this module you will redefine what leadership is and what you need to develop in order to be an effective leader of yourself and others. 
 
 The new model of leadership for navigating a VUCA world 
 The 3 key areas of effective leadership development 
 The 9 crucial shifts that every leader needs to make 

2.15pm: Module 2 - You the Leader - Laying the Foundation 

Leaders are not born, they are created over time. Leadership has been redefined in the 21st century and all leaders must start by leading themselves. 
 
In this module you will go beneath the surface to discover what prerequisites are needed for the person who is to become the leader that is needed to navigate the landscape of today’s volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous marketplace. 
 
 What is Personal Leadership? 
 Developing the essential leadership mindset 
 Setting a strong foundation for emotionally intelligent leadership

3.15pm: Module 3 - Emotional Intelligence - Why It Matters So Much to Leaders 

IQ and technical abilities are not enough. You need to increase your emotional intelligence and develop your relational skills to thrive in the workplace. 
 
In this module you will learn why social and emotional intelligence is a crucial set of competencies for your personal and professional life. 
 
 The consequences of low emotional intelligence (EI) 
 The benefits of developing EI in the workplace 
 The Health and Wellness case for Emotional Intelligence 
 The Business ROI of creating and emotionally intelligent workplace 
 The true definition of emotional intelligence and it’s 26 competencies

If you intend to claim CPD units for this educational activity, please note that CPD activities are not accredited by the Law Society of NSW or any other equivalent local authority, with the exception of Western Australia. If you hold a practising certificate in a state or territory other than Western Australia and this educational activity extends your knowledge and skills in areas that are relevant to your practice needs or professional development, then you should claim one (1) "unit” for each hour of attendance, refreshment breaks not included. The annual requirement is ten (10) CPD units each year from 1 April to 31 March. Some practitioners, such as accredited specialists are required to complete more than ten (10) units each CPD year.
