Enforcing judgment debts: Step-by-step guide

JURISDICTION - NSW, QLD
From $249.00
From $249.00

Course Overview

While a judgment debt is equivalent to a court order, obtaining a judgment doesn’t guarantee the immediate payment of the debt. Often judgment debtors are not willing to pay the judgment debt or don’t have the funds or assets to settle the debt. There’s no mechanism to compel payment immediately.

This means you may need to assist a client in taking further enforcement action. To enforce the judgment, it may be necessary to use a number of different enforcement options, which can be a lengthy process, often involving considerable practical difficulties.

In this short course, you'll learn the different methods you can use to enforce judgments on behalf of your clients.

The course contains content that falls within the mandatory CPD category of Professional Skills.
